Never give up!
New talk about the TRIPLE SEVEN SUMMITS quest
The Austrian alpinist and “Skyrunner” Christian Stangl had an impressive career speeding up the highest mountains on earth. He speed climbed i.e. Cerro Aconcagua (6.956m/Argentina) in 4h 25min from base camp, Ojos del Salado (6.893m/Chile) in 3h43min and Mt. Everest (8.848m/Tibet) in a single day without supplemental oxygen.
By starting a new long term project back in 2008, climbing the three highest mountains of the seven continents, he faced several serious hurdles which almost forced him to quit the entire quest.
After months of disorientation and depression he developed a new personal form of motivation to avoid and to fight actively against bitterness and frustration.
In summer 2013, after seven years, he finally became the first person to successfully climb the “Triple Seven Summits”, approved and certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
Long term projects always contain a number of uncertainties and unforeseen difficulties. Hopelessly stranded and stuck in different problems it requires a huge efforts to find some or any motivation to continue.
The Austrian mountaineer Christian Stangl demonstrates impressively how he overcame the biggest crises in his career.
