Pico de Orizaba

For long time I thought that the third highest mountain of North America would be Mr. St. Elias. However, the North American continent reaches from Alaska to Panama, includes Mexico and it is there that you find the Pico de Orizaba. The Indians call it Citlaltépetl, the mountain of the stars. The mountain can be compared to Mt. Elbrus in Russia concerning height and characteristics. The third highest mountain of North America, which is also the highest of Mexico, can, however, not compete with the lower Popocatepetl when it comes to popularity.
